In the far north of Denmark, washed on one coast by the Skagerrak and on the other by the Kattegat, lies the Skagen peninsula. Here seemingly endless sand dunes constantly move and change shape under the force of the sea and wind. The old fishing village of Gl. Skagen is now a lively artists haunt with many different kinds of restaurants and historic buildings. The attractive, balconied apartments of Hojengran lie in a sheltered position some 10 minutes walk from the beach.
