Spanish is the primary language spoken. Dominican Republic is subject to sporadic power outages. Fresh water is limited and conservation is requested. U.S. citizens will need proof of citizenship and a tourist card, which cost about US$10 and a departure tax of about US$10. You may also be assessed a Government Tax.
