You need a North Carolina fishing license to fish in Fontana Lake; licenses can be purchased at the resort. No license is necessary to fish in the on-site trout pond. There is a fee of US$3.50 for each fish you catch in the on-site pond. A car is necessary to fully enjoy the resort and surrounding area. A US$100 security de- posit is required at check-in. The resort is very isolated and rustic. The closest town is approximately one hour away.
