Classic narrowboats are based at Barton Turns Marina, which is connected to the Trent and Mersey canal. It is a purpose built marina, with moorings for up to 300 craft. Places of interest within easy driving distance include Tutbury Castle, the Potteries, brewery tours, the Bass museum, and the Brewhouse Art Centre, which has a gallery, cinema, bistro, and live entertainment. Numerous restaurants and shops are also on hand. The marina is part of a multi-million-dollar project. A leisure center and restaurant are planned, however, a well-stocked chandlery is already on site.
